What are the benefits of being a Banco Santander shareholder?
1. What is the remuneration for shareholders?
Currently, the shareholder remuneration policy consists of distributing approximately 50% of the Group's net attributable profit divided 50/50 between cash and share repurchase.
The cash dividend is paid 2 times a year, usually in May and November. The first dividend paid against 2024 was paid in November for an amount of €10 cents gross per share.

2. What fees are you exempt from if you are a Banco Santander shareholder?
You are exempt from these fees:
- Share administration and custody.
- Dividend payment.
- Capital transactions and share transfer.
And up to 40% off the Santander share purchase fee
The discount will apply depending on your share purchase and is subject to certain terms and conditions.
After the 40% discount is applied, the following fees will be charged: for digital channel purchases up to €2,000, a fee of €1.80 per transaction; for purchases between €2,000 and €15,000, a fee of €3.60 per transaction; and for purchases over €15,000, a fee of 0.15% on the transaction's value.
To be exempt from fees, you need to have shares with Banco Santander. If you have shares with another bank, switch them over!
3. How can I reinvest my dividends automatically?
With the Dividend Reinvestment Account, you can expand your Santander share portfolio by reinvesting your Santander dividends automatically in new shares.
- Interest-bearing account (10.00% NIR, 10.25% APR1) and no fees or costs.
- After you open the account, your Santander dividends will be automatically reinvested in new Santander shares.
- You can choose the dividend percentage you wish to reinvest.
