ACCIDENT COVERS

  • Injuries due to an accident: compensation with capital assigned to each diagnosis as per a scale (six types of injuries).
  • Home assistance: 50 hours/year (help, cleaning, shopping and errands, food preparation, etc.).
  • Professional sessions: 10 sessions/45 minutes per session (recovery, nursing, chiropody, etc.).

This accident cover is included in all three Mi Hogar Senior insurance options:

If you own or rent a property, you can enjoy the main cover options for damages to your home such as fire, water damage, glass breakages, theft and third-party civil liability claims due to damages to a third party1, also including 24-hour home assistance1.

MI HOGAR SENIOR AMPLIADO

A plus for your peace of mind. If you wish to enhance your convenience and peace of mind, this insurance option includes all types of cover offered by Mi Hogar Santander Esencial as well as additional cover such as aesthetic damage to contents, vehicles or ships in the garage, home DIY, IT support, vandalism, theft outside the home and electrical damages.

For the best cover. Our most comprehensive option for the most demanding people. Designed to protect, maintain and prevent damages to your home – it includes additional cover such accidental damage, aesthetic damage to the building and its contents, maintenance service and repair service1.

Without forgetting the peace of mind derived from the Mi Hogar Senior cover1, as offered in all insurance options:

  • A one-year guarantee for all repairs carried out by the company.
  • Guaranteed 100% cover of damage with the Capital Commitment2.

But there is more: when you take out Mi Hogar Santander Ampliado and Mi Hogar Santander Integral, you benefit from our commitment to quality (3/24/48/72)3:

  • Response within 3 hours of your call in case of emergency. Damages are assessed within 24 hours; repairs are planned before 48 hours; and repairs begin within 72 hours.
  • The insurer will refund an equivalent sum to the annual insurance premium if we do not adhere to these timeframes4.

Property refers to all the constructive and structural elements of a home, whether these are walls, ceilings, floors, or installations such as heating, water or electricity, etc.

To know exactly what the property is, we should bear in mind that this refers to all those materials that are part of the construction of a home, thus, we can distinguish between:

  • The main construction and its fixed installations for water, gas, electricity, telephone, solar energy, heating (boilers, heaters and radiators) and refrigeration, alarm systems and home automation facilities.
  • All the elements that form the structural part of the house: walls, roofs, floors, paving, plugs, etc.
  • Fixed decorative elements adhered to floors, ceilings and/or walls such as paint, wallpaper, fabrics, carpets or parquet.

Whereas the content will consist of the insured amounts declared as furniture, objects of special value and jewellery kept outside and inside a safe.

Yes, Mi Hogar Senior insurance is intended for Banco Santander customers only.

Within 24 hours of you contacting the Assistance service, a professional will come to your home to assess the damage. In the case of urgent incidents, a professional will come to your home within 3 hours of your call.

What area of the property should I include in the policy to be correctly insured? Icon / PlusCreated with Sketch.Icon / minusCreated with Sketch.

All the built area of the house, the garage and storerooms should be insured.

The Insurance Company will help you in obtaining this, using the address, directly from the Catastro (Land Registry).
If this does not exist or it is impossible to obtain it, you will have to provide it, including all those areas that may form part of the Buildings, including the house, garage and storerooms.
When doing this, bear in mind that the insurance does not cover the usable square metres (i.e. the "walkable" area of the house, including the wardrobes) but rather the constructed square metres (usable area plus "non-walkable" areas, partitions, walls, pillars, etc.).

"Insured" in the accident cover means the policyholder and their spouse or registered common-law partner, provided they are between 65 and 85 years of age.

Only for those indicated in the scale of injuries, in case of suffering any injury other than these will not be covered. The scale corresponds to the list of diagnoses that are covered in the Policy and is compensated for them.
