How do I activate a card?

First time with your card? Activate it in a moment!

From the Santander App

Enter your global position using your passcode or Face ID and follow the steps below:

  1. Select the card you want to activate, where you will be prompted to "Start Using".
  2. A screen will appear directly to activate it by signing with Santander Key or if you do not have Santander Key you can do so by entering your Electronic Signature.
  3. You now have your card ready to start using it!


Desde tu Banca Online

From your Online BankingEnter your global position using your access code and follow the steps below:

  1. Select the card you want to activate, where you will be prompted to "Activate".
  2. Confirm the card you want to activate by having the option to modify the card you want to activate.
  3. A screen will appear directly to activate it by signing with Santander Key or if you do not have Santander Key you can do so by entering your Electronic Signature.

If you know the PIN of your new card, you can also activate it by paying with it at a store (for purchases equal to or greater than €50) or by making a cash withdrawal at an ATM. It cannot be activated with online purchases. Remember that you can locate your nearest ATM in our branch and ATM finder.
