How can I register a "Secure Device"?
Do you want to find out about registering your mobile as a “Secure Device”? What does this procedure involve and what is it for?
In order to receive confirmation codes or push notifications on your mobile phone that you can use to confirm your operations both in the Santander App and in Online Banking, you need to first register your mobile as a “Secure Device”.
How can I register a “Secure Device” from the App?
- Enter your personal area using your access code.
- Select the “Security Settings” option at the bottom of the menu.
- Choose the “Secure Device” option.
- Select the option “Update secure device” to indicate the mobile phone where you want to receive confirmation codes.
To confirm the registration, you will need to have an active and operational electronic signature and you will need to enter the single-use code that you will receive as an SMS on your mobile phone. From then on, you will receive confirmation codes in the form of a push notification.
Remember that in order to be able to receive push notifications you will need to enable notifications on your device (you can check this in "Settings"). In addition, make sure you do not have a power or data saving option enabled as this could keep the App running in the background and interfere with the sending of push notifications.
