SIALP Savings Plan
The Banco Santander SIALP Savings Plan is an individual long-term savings insurance policy from Santander Seguros. The aim is to accumulate capital throughout the policy's lifetime thanks to monthly contributions. The plan allows you to benefit from tax exemptions on income received, according to relevant legislation and to whether requirements are met. The insurance policy also provides benefits to beneficiaries of your choice, in the event of death before maturity.
How does the SIALP Savings Plan work?
Guaranteed interest rate on your savings
You will receive a guaranteed minimum interest rate on what you have saved throughout the policy. The minimum interest rate may be swapped, for half-yearly periods, for an improved interest rate.
Total liquidity from day one
You can surrender the accumulated savings in full at any time with no penalties.
Receive additional returns
If you honour your commitment and save monthly throughout the whole year, you may receive a bonus consisting of an improved interest rate, thereby further increasing your savings.
Cover in the event of death
Also, in the event of death before maturity, the beneficiary(ies) indicated will receive the accumulated savings plus an additional capital sum.
Tax
If the requirements set out in the relevant legislation are met at the time of receipt of the policy's income, said income is exempt from taxation.
These requisites are currently as follows:
- More than 5 years must have elapsed since the first contribution to the long-term savings plan.
- You must be the holder of a single long-term savings plan (in the form of an insurance policy [SIALP]; or in the form of an account [CIALP]).
- The Policyholder, the Insured and the Beneficiary must be the same person (except for in the case of coverage for death). Annual contributions must be €5,000 or less.
