Service to defer your credit card payments when making a purchase
Using plazox, you can finance your purchases in any physical or online store at 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, providing the service is enabled at the payment terminal. Just pay with your Santander credit card1 for individuals or freelancers and choose the number of instalments required at the time of the purchase.
How does plazox work in a physical transaction?
To use plazox, you only need to pay with a credit card at any business with this service enabled. You choose how you want to split the payment at the time of purchase.
- After entering your PIN at the payment terminal, you can choose between paying the total amount for your purchase or splitting the payment.
- If you decide to split the payment, you can choose between the options of paying in 3, 6, 9 or 12 months at the terminal.
- The amount to be paid for each term option will appear on the screen; you can then confirm the operation by entering your PIN. It's as easy as that!
How does plazox work online?
In the same way, you only need your credit card to defer the payment of your purchases. During the purchase process, a screen opens up with the postponement options; just follow these steps:
- After selecting the card payment option, enter your details.
- You will see the postponement options. If you decide to split the payment, you must choose between the options of paying in 3, 6, 9 or 12 months.
- You just have to choose the form of postponement that interests you the most and give your consent by marking acceptance of the conditions (in the button "Do you want to postpone?", which will appear below the postponement options).
- The operation is confirmed and finished after completing the authentication process. With just a few clicks - it's as easy as that!

When paying with your credit card, the different postponement options will be displayed on the screen, with their corresponding monthly amounts, at the point of sale of the physical or online store.
What type of credit card purchases can be postponed with plazox?
Any type of purchase can be postponed, as long as it is for an amount of at least €601. Any business can increase this minimum amount up to a maximum of €500. Also, the minimum amount of each instalment is €20.

Answers to your questions about plazox
You don't have to do anything! For your convenience, we have enabled this service at the payment terminal; so it is available without you having to change anything on your card or do anything else1. Just select the option at the point of sale or when making the online purchase. The plazox service is not available for revolving credit cards.
You don't have to do any paperwork, fill out questionnaires or wait for any additional approval. You only have to give your consent by following the instructions you receive during the purchase process, whether this is in a physical store or online.
