Brexit corner
Dear Customer, On 29 March 2017, the English Government began the UK's formal process to leave the European Union. As a result of this process, and given the uncertainty generated, we want to inform you that the Santander Group provides services in the United Kingdom through branches of Banco Santander, S.A. and its subsidiary, Santander UK plc. This subsidiary is a British domestic bank that complies with the requirements of British regulators, that is, the Prudential Regulatory Authority and the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Additionally, Banco Santander, S.A. is in the process of obtaining the appropriate reauthorisation of its activities in the United Kingdom from places in the EU27, such as our headquarters in Spain and our branches in Paris, Frankfurt and Milan. Similarly, Banco Santander, S.A. will benefit from the existing temporary permit regime and will continue to offer its services to our UK customers without any problems. Furthermore, the structure of Banco Santander, S.A., which includes both activity in Spain and activity in the United Kingdom and Europe, guarantees that there will be no interruptions to services ass a result of the different Brexit scenarios.
