Your mobile or tablet will be protected from the moment the device is validated, the premium is collected and the invoice for the purchase of the device is presented. The insurance renews automatically every 12 months after the date it is taken out, unless the policyholder gives notice that they wish to terminate it at least one month before it expires.
Insurance cover is offered exclusively on Spanish soil, and up to 90 consecutive days abroad if the insured is on a trip or travelling. With this time restriction, the device is covered worldwide, but it may only be repaired or replaced on Spanish soil.
Yes, there must be a purchase invoice for the device to be insured. The contracting process will allow you to attach a photograph of it, or you can send a valid copy of the document to the e-mail address clientes@tusegurodigital.santandervidaygenerales.es.
The purchase invoice for the device must be furnished for claims. Otherwise, the claim will be rejected.
1. Notify the incident, as soon as you become aware of it, by calling 91 955 28 70, sending an email to siniestros@tusegurodigital.santandervidaygenerales.es, or via the Banco Santander private website or app by going to the insurance, which you can see under your global position or in your arranged products, and following the instructions provided. A form will be displayed where the insured party can attach all the documentation required to process their claim.
2. To ensure that your claim is processed as fast as possible, once you have notified it, you will receive instructions on how to proceed depending on the mobile device insured.
3. Information required from the insured party in order to process the claim:
For the Essential option, only one claim is allowed per year. For the Extended and Plus options, two claims are allowed per year.
Robbery is when the device is unlawfully taken with the use of violence against persons or force over things.
Theft is when the device is unlawfully taken without the use of violence against persons or force over things.
The insurance company will make arrangements for repairs with officially authorised technical services, which may not be the manufacturer's own official technical service, and thus the insured may lose the guarantee offered by the manufacturer of the device insured as a result of repairs. In these situations, the insurance company will first secure the insured's consent before authorising the repairs, and the insured may waive the repair if he or she so desires.
If the insured has other contracts with the same cover for the claim, drawn up with different insurance companies, the insured must notify each of them of the existence of the other policies, stating the names of the insurance companies concerned, and so each company will pay an indemnity for the damage caused only in the proportion of the sum insured, so that the total does not exceed the amount of damages.
